Boken is Bend’s first and only true Izakaya restaurant.
The food is authentic and spicy and bold by nature. It is made to drink with. Boken has a full bar with a focus on whiskey!! You will also find a unique wine list and a cleaver sake menu as well, with Sapporo and local beers on draft, as well as a nice selection of Asian beers by the bottle.
Boken has recently become one of my new favorites in town. The service is always friendly and very helpful which makes the experience that much better. The food is excellent as well and the pho in my opinion is the best in town. Plus there are many vegetarian and gluten free options so there is something for everyone.

Boken is one of my new fave hotspots in town. A quiet location in the breezeway downtown by Bellatazza, easy to almost miss the place. Friendly servers and fantastic food! Don't miss their happy hour, 3-6. Interesting cocktails and menu. Reasonable prices, this place is an overlooked gem! My partner pronounced the chicken satay skewers the 'best chicken I've ever eaten'. I usually stick with veggie items and have never been disappointed.Do not miss this hidden treasure!

There is no more intersting restaurant in Bend. Its name means "adventure" and the restaurant lives up to it with an exciting mix of Asian tastes--Thai.Japanese, Vietnamese--which enliven small plates [grilled eggplant with cilantro, lime], skewers [grilled baby octopi in a clear, spicy marinade], and rolls [Vietnamese with fried red snapper and lemon grass]. There is also a daily selection of nigiri and shashimi. Prices are reasonable and food quality superb. Clearly the kitchen cares.

My friend and I ordered both red and green curried dishes, red snapper and chicken, and were wowed by the flavor of both the sauces, with vegetables, and the meats. The snapper was fried crispy and was tasty and the chicken was tender and full flavored. Even with the addition of the side of rice to the bowl, flavor was not lost. Also, there was plenty of food, no going hungry for more curry. Great service and fun to watch the fresh ingredients being prepared by the chefs. We will be back.

Boken in the breezeway of downtown bend serves some of the best Asian cuisine in town. With an array of authentic, flavorful, spicy foods, Boken will surely have something to enjoy. Plus, you can choose many different dishes, as menu items are served tapas style, and are great to share. Boken also has the best Vietnamese Pho in town, and a berry-ghost pepper ice cream that will leave your taste buds with a burningly satisfied feel. Boken is a great place to congregate and share some awesome tapas plates with some friends or a date.
