  I had a gift card to this place and I'd only had one Indian cuisine experience before this one so I was a little hesitant, but I'm so glad to have tried this one out! SOOO GOOD it's definitely a favorite now. I had the dish with asparagus and scallops and some rosemary bread the food was delish! I love the atmosphere, colors and decor are pleasant for the restaurant. A MUST TRY.

  Tried many dishes there and never were disappointed! The food are delicious and fresh! The servers are very attentive to their customers and have good knowledge about their drinks as well. You need to try it!

This restaurant is one of my favorites. I am always thrilled with the 3-4 course lunch of under 15$, the happy hour is great for those not committed to spending a whole lot but still wanting good food and drink. Wine list is well thought out; the cocktails are delicious. The restaurant feels warm and welcoming. The fish is outstanding.

Great Indian food in downtown Portland best I have had. They were VERY understanding of our milk and or gluten allergies and help me pick something, drinks were outstanding. Very personal service and the staff is great. I will be coming back again very soon. Small or big groups are welcome! ?

This is a fantastic restaurant. I've been here several times, the latest being last night (1/17/'12). As always, the service was excellent, the ambiance cozy and charming, and the food outstanding. This restaurant can accommodate large groups, and it is perfect for couples or small parties who want a cozy, intimate setting. East India Company uses local, fresh ingredients and the food is cooked with and served love. They have something for everyone, including finicky eaters, vegetarians, vegans, etc., etc., etc.! This is an extraordinary restaurant of the finest Indian cuisine. I highly recommend it to everyone!

East India co brings classic indian dishes together with a very contemporary feel. It also features some original dishes which you will probably not find in India. One dish, which I throughly enjoyed was a lamb chop plate with an herb marinade served on top. The flavors were like an explosion, but a good one, that is evenly dispersed, and all the attributes are recognizable. They were also very accommodating to my friend's gluten free diet, and had many options for him. East India co will now be a regular stop for me.
